Highlighting library collections: using Alma and Primo to showcase special collections at the Sciences Po library

The Sciences Po Library has gradually developed a consistent set of actions aimed at increasing the awareness and use of its physical, electronic, and digital resources, a great ambition given that the vast majority of its collections are kept in closed storage facilities. 

Apart from physical exhibitions and displays, most of the initiatives are online through the library's website and extended through LibGuides curated by subject librarians, which the library launched in 2015.  In 2020, the migration to Alma and Primo offered new possibilities and encouraged staff to introduce new features and redesign old ones.
After a short presentation of our actions, we hope to discuss about other ideas and experiences and learn more from our CIVICA partners.

CIVICA Cafés are monthly one-hour Zoom events designed for library staff across the CIVICA alliance. They provide a space to share experiences, best practices, and library innovations in an informal setting. For any questions, contact library@civica.eu.
